new music soon!
Long time no updates whoops… well, tons of new music has been in the works lately !!!

Blooming Through The Black

We released our 2nd LP September 9, 2016 nearly 3 years after our debut LP Poor Old Shine was released. It felt really good to FINALLY have a follow up come together and see the light of day.
Much of the time between these releases was spent performing 8 shows a week in a play The Heart Of Robin Hood. For this play, we wrote the music and also performed it on stage in Boston, Winnipeg, and Toronto for significant chunks of 2013, 2014, and 2015. In addition to the theater occupying a lot of our time, we put in a lot of miles out on the road, getting our feet wet as a touring band, hitting both coasts in the US and Canada and most places in between. We played shows in nearly every type of venue you can think of from New England Farmers Markets to abandoned Town Halls, to small Irish Pubs to large standing room rock clubs. We played for rooms filled with only 6 or 7 people the same week we’d play to a festival crowd of over 5,ooo people. Almost anywhere was ok with us, so long as people were listening.
I think this record is the result of 5 people writing and performing music together for over 3 years, just beginning to grasp the possibilities of our collective mind. During our album release tour, it’s been fun having these new songs even evolve a little since they were recorded, as we continue to experiment with arrangements and different instruments on stage.
What will our next record sound like? I don’t think anyone knows, yet. But, I’m feeling optimistic about a quicker turnaround.
See you on the road
Erik
Water Through A Mill (Live)
We played a new song for a video last week in Holyoke, MA. I showed up barefoot with no cymbals! At long last, a new Parsonsfield record is in the works!!!
Parsonsfield summer tour dates!
Parsonsfield is heading back out on the road soon. We will be fully equipped with new songs, vinyl, and enough Snyders Honey Mustard and Onion Pretzels to get us across the country.
Century Drums – Toronto
I have to shout out to Greg Millson at Century Drums in Toronto for selling me these. He used to do a lot of touring, most notably with Great Lake Swimmers, and now has a great vintage drum shop in Toronto. The kick and floor tom are Gretsch (around ’69/’70) and the snare is some old weird 13″ German drum. Yahooooo!
Parsonsfield – Afterparty EP
Happy release day! I fulfilled my dream of recording and releasing a cover of a Huey Lewis and the News song… Enjoy!
Bhi Bhiman Session
I had the honor of playing drums on a session for the next Bhi Bhiman record, with Bhi and Sam Kassirer, up at Great North. Great session during an unbelievably cold week in Maine. What a voice! A highlight from the session was when Bhi ate his FIRST EVER Fluffernutter sandwich. Rock and Roll.
